A digital photo frame is a photo frame that displays digital photos without printing. The rise of digital photography inevitably led to the development of digital photo frames, as less than 35% of digital photos are printed. Although some digital photo frames offer built-in memory, they usually read pictures directly from the memory card used by the camera.
The digital photo frames on the market are roughly divided into three categories:
1 Simple function digital photo frame (can only display pictures in jpeg format)
2 Simple multimedia digital photo frame (also play music and video)
3 Advanced Multimedia Digital Photo Frames (usually supports wireless 802.11 connections and can also download pictures from websites or even emails)
Most digital photo frames display photos in the form of a slideshow (generally with the function of adjusting the time interval), and some digital photo frames can also play camera video formats such as MPG movie clips or MP3 audio files.
Single-function digital photo frames can only display pictures in JPEG format, while multimedia digital photo frames can play music and videos.
Some digital photo frames can download pictures over the Internet from RSS, photo-sharing sites, or even e-mail. Most digital photo frames can display pictures at adjustable time intervals like a slideshow. Some frames can also play MP3 music or video clips taken with the camera, such as MPEG files.
